Insurance inspection of JSC "NIKIET"

Russian nuclear insurance pool together with the private institution of the State Corporation "Rosatom", "SGIC Rosatom carried out an insurance inspection of the Open Joint Stock Company of "Order of Lenin Scientific-Research and Design Institute of Power Engineering named after NA Dollezhal ") (JSC" NIKIET ") during the period 26 - 27 April .

The main purpose of the testing is the assessment of insurance risk JSC "NIKIET" for placing insurance cover third party liability risks for the nuclear risk and the risk of damage to property.

Members of the inspection analyzed general security issues and the operation level of research nuclear plants (IR-50 reactor and subcritical stand - PKC PS-2). Necessary materials for nuclear and radiation hazardous facilities were examined. Inspectors visited the major manufacturing facilities, equipment and systems. The review examined the available space at the facilities, including facilities of the reactor and subcritical booth, the Central Hall with a pool holding spent nuclear fuel, cooling and cleaning of BV, the system of radiation protection control, fire suppression systems.
